Andreas Peichl (40), Director of the ifo Center for Macroeconomics and Surveys, has been appointed to the Advisory Board to the Federal Ministry of Finance. In this capacity, he will advise the German Federal Minister of Finance on fiscal policy issues, independently and on a voluntary basis.
Andreas Peichl has been at the ifo Institute since June 2017 and is also Professor of Economics, in particular Macroeconomics and Finance, at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. His research interests include public economics, taxation and redistribution, and inequality.
Peichl will be working with other ifo colleagues on the Advisory Board: ifo President Clemens Fuest is also a member, while Marcel Thum, Director of the ifo Dresden Branch, is Chairman of the Board.
