BTA (m/f/d)
Leibniz Institute for Immunotherapie (LIT), Regensburg
The LIT - Leibniz Institute for Immunotherapy (foundation under civil law) (www.lit.eu) – is a biomedical research center focusing on translational immunology in the fields of cancer immunotherapy, transplant rejection and autoimmunity. The objective of the LIT is to develop innovative and efficient cellular immune therapeutics in these areas. Our own GMP laboratories and close networking with University and University Hospital offer excellent opportunities for clinical translation of novel immune cell products.
The Group “Structural Biochemistry” at the LIT is recruiting a
BTA (m/f/d) - LS-2025-01
in a full-time position (40.1 hours per week), starting in May. Later start dates can be arranged if necessary. This position is initially limited to two years, with the possibility of extension.
Our newly established Structural Biochemistry group combines methods from synthetic biology and computational protein design to develop next-generation T cell therapies. We focus on creating task-specific protein components, which are subsequently tested in relevant model systems. This includes plasmid design and cloning, as well as potential screenings in cell lines or yeast and validation in primary cells. Our goal will be to eventually develop candidates for clinical testing.
Since our group is just starting out, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to setting up a positive lab culture.
Your Tasks
- Cultivation and modification of primary human or murine T cells, as well as HEK-293T, Jurkat, and various cancer cell lines
- Production of lentiviruses or retroviruses
- Cloning and purification of new plasmids (mini-, midi-, and maxiprep)
- Analysis and execution of experiments to characterize different cell types (e.g., NanoLuciferase measurements using a Tecan Microplate Reader, killing assays using an Incucyte)
- Documentation of laboratory activities, experimental results, and processes
- Maintenance and care of laboratory equipment, plus support in lab organization
- Participation in creating protocols and standard operating procedures
Our Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a TA (m/f/d) or comparable qualification
- Practical experience in cell culture and cloning
- Independent, precise, and reliable working style
- Team spirit and willingness to learn new technologies and processes
- Ability to communicate in English
We offer:
- A varied and exciting role in an innovative research environment
- A dynamic and dedicated team committed to the future of cell therapies
- Comprehensive training
- Flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes
- Excellent opportunities for professional and personal development
- Flexible working hours to help balance family and career
- Company pension scheme (VBL)
- Annual special payment
- Capital-forming benefits
- Job ticket, and more
Remuneration is in accordance with TV-L. The LIT places particular emphasis on promoting a healthy work-life balance.
