The Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) analyses the causes of international and intrastate conflicts. As one of the leading peace research institutes in Europe, we combine interdisciplinary basic research with science transfer to the public, the media and policymakers. Since 2009, the PRIF has been a member of the Leibniz Association, a national umbrella organization of outstanding non-university research institutes in Germany. PRIF is headquartered in Frankfurt and has a branch office in Berlin. More than 100 employees from research, administration and science communication contribute to PRIF's success. communication designer / web developer (m/f/d)

in full-time, in Salary Group 13 TV-H*, for the duration of 2 years (acc. to § 14 Paragraph 2 TzBfG**).

Conditional on the approval of the project, the position is limited to a duration of two years. An extension financed by project funds is intended.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Participation in the work of the science communication department;
  • Participation in the complete reworking of the eLearning course for the project “EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament”;
  • Cooperation with the course’s authors and external contractors on technical matters.

As applicant, you should fulfill the following requirements:

  • You are interested in matters of peace and conflict research and arms control;
  • You have a university degree in the field of communication science/design, web development, or another relevant discipline;
  • You are a graphical designer / web developer with a focus on the technological aspects of the field;
  • You are fluent in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud products and can give already edited videos their final touch;
  • You have experience using React and Gatsby or another front-end framework as well as structured data (JSON, CSV, Markdown);
  • You have experience with the administration of Moodle or another PHP application;
  • You are skilled in agile project management (ticketing system, etc.) and version control (git / Github);
  • Research skills in the area of usage rights of material for the eLearning course round out your profile;
  • You are fluent in English. German language skills are of advantage.
