Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), Müncheberg
The mission of the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) as a nationally and internationally active research institute is to deliver solutions for an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable agriculture – together with society. ZALF is a member of the Leibniz Association and is located in Müncheberg (approx. 35 minutes by regional train from Berlin-Lichtenberg). It also maintains a research station with further locations in Dedelow and Paulinenaue.
The research group “Farm Economics and Ecosystem Services” is a team of dedicated postdocs and PhD students who want to make a difference through good science, mutual support and exchange with other disciplines and practice. The aim of our research is to develop innovative solutions for site-adapted land use of the future together with other working groups. To this end, we work with our mathematical programming based bio-economic farm model that we continuously further develop and apply.
As part of the DAKIS project, this model is to be embedded in a software and database structure developed in parallel and controlled via graphical user interfaces. For this purpose, we are looking for a full stack developer who will graphically extend the existing model and integrate it into this overall system. We are therefore looking for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility of an extension of 6 months (subject to funding) to start as soon as possible at the Müncheberg site a

Your tasks
- you expand existing modules with a focus on R-Shiny
- you coordinate the development of interfaces with the other developers in the project
- you develop an appealing graphical representation of our model results
- you develop modules that support the interaction of the model with its users
Your qualifications
- several years of experience as a Full Stack Developer with experience in R
- knowledge of GAMS MIRO, Python or Java is desirable
- experience integrating applications in distributed systems
- experience in common technologies and frameworks such as REST and Shiny
- knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Postgres, MariaDB)
- completed studies in computer science, business informatics or comparable professional training
- knowledge of agriculture is an advantage
We are a lively team that is always happy to support each other. To enable good cooperation, advanced knowledge of two programming languages is desired and a basic understanding of working with other languages is an advantage.
