Head of Metabolomics Facility (f/m/d)

Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB), Halle

Research at the IPB, a member of the Leibniz Association on the Weinberg Campus of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, aims to understand the chemical basis of plant resilience and performance. The IPB offers a stimulating multi¬disciplinary academic environment, excellent research facilities and state-of-the-art technologies to investigate the chemical diversity, metabolic interconversions, molecular actions, and biological roles of plant and fungal natural products, with an emphasis on specialized metabolites, signaling molecules, and underlying protein regulatory circuits see (http://www.ipb-halle.de).

The IPB secured permanent funding to establish a dedicated Program Center for Plant Metabolomics and Computational Biochemistry (MetaCom). Center units will initially comprise the Metabolomics Facility, Analytical Laboratory, and Computational Plant Biochemistry Group, followed by the addition of an Independent Junior Research Group.

The IPB invites applications to fill the MetaCom-associated Senior Scientist position of

In addition, the head of the metabolomics facility is expected to develop an independent line of research consistent with the mission of the IPB and to actively acquire third-party funding. Additional responsibilities include coordinating the activities of the MetaCom Center jointly with the other co-speaker and the Directors of the IPB, managing the park of instruments (including new acquisitions) and the finances of the facility.
