Marketing Associate with specialization in the energy sector (m/f/d)

to work in the Scientific Data Management Group led by Prof. (Univ. Simón Bolívar) Dr. Maria-Esther Vidal beginning on January 1st 2020.

The position is initially limited to 2 years. The regular weekly working time is 39.8 hours (full-time). The position is only suitable for part-time work to a limited extent. Depending on the successful candidate’s qualification (Bachelor / Master), the remuneration is based either on pay scale group 12 or 13 TV-L.

Your challenge

We are looking for a Marketing Associate to plan and implement communication and dissemination activities for a highly prestigious European Research project on big data analytics for the energy sector at the Scientific Data Management Group of TIB. This project will run from January 2020 until December 2022; it will drive the digitalization of the energy sector, enabling higher levels of operational excellence with the adoption of disrupting technologies. The project aims at offering access to cheaper and sustainable energy for energy consumers and thus maximise social welfare. This job position focuses on organizing and executing measures to disseminate and communicate the project and its output. You will facilitate the sharing of the outcomes of the project with external, targeted audiences, as well as towards other units of the 20 consortium partners. Furthermore you will collect feedback from various audiences and engage them with the project through targeted dissemination activities, e. g. by co-organising workshops and meetings. Moreover, you will promote the visibility of the project and raise awareness about the topics it addresses through effective communication and outreach activities, social media campaigns, publications, maintenance of the project’s website and blog, distribution of printed and electronic material and publication of press releases. All aforementioned activities will be coordinated and developed in collaboration with the project’s communication lead and the project leader at TIB. You will receive training for the aforementioned tasks.

Your tasks include

  • Development and joint implementation of the communication and dissemination strategy of a high profile European project with a consortium of 20 partners
  • Supporting the preparation and dissemination of marketing content, e. g. newsletters and communication campaigns at European level
  • Regularly update the project's website and social media accounts with the relevant content in order to maximise the visibility of the project, the opportunities to use the project results and awareness of its relevance for EU citizens
  • Support of the marketing activities of conferences, events, workshops and webinars in connection with the data-driven approaches developed in the project
  • Contribute to the research and preparation of communication, dissemination and marketing results and reports for EU-funded projects

Your qualities

  • University degree (Bachelor/Master or comparable), preferably in marketing and communication or a related field (e. g. business development, business administration, digital strategy, etc.); A master is an asset.
  • Specialization in the energy sector is an asset
  • Experience in the marketing activities of a research institution or a company
  • Previous working experience in EU-funded projects and their communication is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; German would be a plus.
  • Experience in social media marketing
  • Very good digital literacy, including tasks such as finding, evaluating, and composing clear information for websites, social media and conducting market research and stakeholder management
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an international team
  • Good organizational skills and time management
  • Graphic design skills
  • Proactive, dynamic and resourceful abilities
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Great attention to detail
