Open Access publication platform manager, creation and further development of the service (m/f/d)

to work in the field of publication services at March 2020.

The position is permanent and the regular weekly working time is 39.8 hours (full-time). The position is generally suitable for part-time work. The remuneration is based on pay scale group 13 TV-L.

TIB is building a new publication platform for conference publications and journals based on open source technologies. The platform is geared to modern user expectations and current technical possibilities. It will fulfil essential requirements for Open Access publications for conference publications. The platform will be tested in a permanent quality and further development process, adapted to changing requirements and optimised for the important function in the scientific publication process.

Your tasks

  • editorial development and implementation of the platform including continuous evaluation and adaptation
  • acquisition of users of the service in scientific communities
  • evaluation of field analyses and user feedback, organisation of user tests
  • development and documentation of user-friendly workflows
  • presentation of the service in an academic and library environment

Your qualities

  • university degree (Master or comparable), preferably in mathematics, natural sciences or engineering or a related field
  • good knowledge of scientific publishing and the Open Access landscape
  • experience with the production or publication of conference or journal publications
  • very good knowledge of English
  • communication and cooperation skills

Desirable

  • knowledge of Open Journal Systems or Open Monograph Press
  • experience with project collaboration, also in national and international cooperations
  • willingness to develop and implement your own concepts and ideas
