PhD Researcher in Computational Modeling of 3D Morphogenesis (f/m/d)

The Image Analysis group of the IPK Gatersleben is welcoming applications for a

PhD position (m/f/d)

on the field of image-based computational modeling of 3D morphogenesis.

Your tasks:

  • You will develop a theoretical and computational framework for modeling and simulation of the early stages of plant seed development using time series of 2D projection and 3D tomographic data
  • You will communicate with internal and external cooperation partners
  • You will present results at scientific meetings and write journal articles

Your qualifications and skills:

  • You have a Master degree in informatics, mathematics, physics or similar educational background
  • You have experience in development of computational models of morphogenesis, tissue growth, embryonic development, and/or registration, motion tracking in 2D RGB and 3D tomographic images
  • You have profound programming skills in MATLAB, Python and/or C/C++
  • Previous experience in biomedical image analysis or modelling of biological structures proven by relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals is a plus
