The DWI – Leibniz-Institute for Interactive Materials is a federal and state funded research institute of the Leibniz Association based on the Melaten Campus of RWTH Aachen University. International young and experienced scientists from various disciplines develop interactive materials based on the principles of nature. DWI invites applications for one position as
PhD student (f/m/d)
in the field of Chemistry or Life Sciences
DWI offers you a wide range of possibilities to develop further both professionally and personally in an interdisciplinary setting.
A PhD student position is available starting from March 2021. The topic deals with the fabrication and characterization of novel bioactive compounds and their in vitro and in vivo release by external triggers, especially ultrasound. These anti-infective agents are either produced by chemical synthesis or biotechnology methods or a combination of them.
- Completed studies (M.Sc. or comparable) in chemistry or life sciences
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Passion for multidisciplinary research
- Strong research background in organic chemistry or molecular biology
- Excellent skills in the English language

The 3-year position has to be filled by March 2021.
There is a possibility to fulfill the position in part-time, unless there are compelling professional reasons to do otherwise.
