The Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB), a non-university first-class research institute of international reputation, is located on the vibrant weinberg-campus of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), Halle, in the heartlands of Germany.
The dynamic and multinational IPB-Department Molecular Signal Processing seeks a PhD candidate who contributes to the elucidation of molecular mechanisms that monitor external phosphate bioavailability in the context of phosphate-metal (Fe, Al) interactions during plant root development (research group Nutrient Sensing).
The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in biochemistry or closely related molecular discipline. We expect curiosity, creativity, analytical capabilities, team spirit, and vivid communication skills, including an intermediate command of English. The IPB is committed to the success of its PhD students and offers a structured doctoral training program (Leibniz Research School PlantBioChem), which operates in coordination with PhD programs at the MLU Halle (please, browse our website on www.ipb-halle.de).
Salary and excellent benefits (social and health insurance) will be based on German laws for employees in the public sector (TV-L E 13, 65%).
