The aim of the Research Department Viral Zoonoses - One Health, headed by Prof. Dr. Gülsah Gabriel, is to understand the pathophysiology of respiratory virus infections (e.g. influenza, SARS-CoV-2). Focus herein lies in understanding why some people have a higher risk for severe infection courses.
We are looking for a highly motivated, team-oriented postdoctoral fellow with a degree in life sciences (biology, microbiology, veterinary medicine or medicine). The applicant should have key experience in viral research. Previous experience with small animal models and working in high biosafety containment laboratories would be an asset. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills and be able to supervise students and perform team-oriented as well as independent work.

The position is initially funded for 2 years and has the possibility for extension after the initial period. Payment and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TV-AVH (salary agreement for public service employees).
