Postdoctoral research associate (m/f/d)

in the Department DSMZ Services. The appointment will be initially for 5 years with a salary according to TV-L (depending on individual qualification and experience). The position is offered as full time (39.8 hours per week) and is appropriate for a part time position.

The postdoctoral researcher will be involved into the analytical services provided by the DSMZ. This includes the optimization of methods, the introduction of state-of-the-art analytical methods, analysis of routine samples, database curation and customer support. Development and realization of novel analytical research projects are among the major tasks including chemotaxonomy and metabolic characterization of microorganisms and cell culture. A close collaboration with different departments of the DSMZ is expected.

Requirements for the position are a PhD university degree with a focus on microbiology or biochemistry or a comparable discipline. The position requires experience mass spectrometry coupled to gas chromatography or liquid chromatography, ideally both, on analytical, technical and methodological level. Candidates should have documented experience in analysis of complex metabolomic or lipidomic analyses and in planning und realization of systems biological approaches.
