The Institute for Complex Materials of at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden) offers a
Postdoctoral Researcher Position (m/f/d) in the area of “SAW Sensor Technology”.
The vacancy should be filled as soon as possible.
The project is focused on development and characterization of wireless SAW-based temperature sensors for applications in the high-temperature range. The work comprises experimental and fundamental investigations on materials and SAW-devices with the aim of long-term stability at high temperatures coupled with deep understanding of damaging mechanisms. In addition, the skills and equipment of the working group provide very good conditions for further scientific profiling.
Potential candidates (m/f/d) should hold a PhD degree in Materials Science, Physics or Electrical Engineering as well as very good knowledge and experience in the fields of:
- Thin film technology and related material properties
- Microacoustics or MEMS technology, especially surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology
- Radio frequency measurement technology and
- Simulation based on COMSOL or similar (but not mandatory).
We are looking for a candidate with pronounced initiative and creativity and being able to work in a team, as well as fluency of written and spoken English and German. Professional working style and personal motivation are required.

The employment contract is limited till 2021/09/30 but can be extended upon a successful mid-term evaluation. The salary is based upon the TV-L rules (EG 13; 100%; part-time is also possible).
