Postdoctorial Position in Agricultural Economics (f/m/d)

Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), Müncheberg

We are offering a full-time postdoc position at our location in Müncheberg to strengthen the research group „Farm economics and ecosystem services“ in project related works. The working group consists currently of 5 senior researchers, a number of PhDs and one programming expert. One focus of the group is on development and application of a bio-economic, farm level modelling approach to analyse novel technologies, management options and policy instruments regarding their impact on farm economics, ecosystem services and biodiversity. The successful candidate has an excellent methodological knowledge and will enforce the research group in the context of model development, case study work and reporting in peer reviewed scientific papers.

Postdoctorial Position in Agricultural Economics (f/m/d)  (100%, 24 months)

Your tasks:

  • contribute to the theoretical background and conceptualization of work in different case study regions
  • if necessary, develop modules within the existing modelling chain
  • analyse secondary data and assist with policy workshops
  • interact with stakeholders, from farmers to policy makers
  • collaborate with scientists from other disciplines e.g. in conducting ecological assessments
  • support the research team in conducting case studies and publishing the work in leading journals

Your qualifications:

  • doctoral degree in agricultural or business economics or related discipline
  • solid skills in optimization methods, database techniques and software languages such as GAMS
  • good knowledge of agricultural technologies and agri-environmental policies
  • ability to work in an interdisciplinary team as well as independently
  • strong interest in scientific writing and excellent command of English
  • fluency in German is a clear plus
