Project manager to assist the implementation and running of T-FITNESS (m/f/d)

The LIT – Leibniz Institute for Immunotherapy (foundation under civil law) is a research institute dedicated to the development of novel, curative immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer, chronic inflammation, and autoimmune disease. Within the scope of its international activities, the LIT is coordinating a European collaborative project, T-FITNESS, which is embedded in Europe’s Horizon EIC Pathfinder challenge “Emerging technologies in cell and gene therapy”. The aim of this project is to develop a groundbreaking technology based on microRNA-based logic circuits to enable CAR T cells to become refractory to functional exhaustion once they reach the tumor sites.

The LIT is seeking a

Project manager to assist the implementation and running of T-FITNESS (m/f/d)

from October 1st 2022 until August 31th 2026. The position is part-time (20 hours per week).


  • Support the project scientific coordinator in the day-to-day running of the pro-ject’s activities
  • Maintain communication between the project management team and the con-sortium as a whole, especially with the work package and task leadership
  • Ensure the timely completion and submission of reports (technical and finan-cial)
  • Ensure the timely completion of the expected deliverables (collecting, reviewing to verify consistency and submitting reports including financial statements and related certification)
  • Assist the project scientific coordinator to resolve any conflicts of whatever na-ture that arise within the project consortium or between the project and the Eu-ropean Commission
  • Organize the annual assemblies of the project in collaboration with the hosting partner
  • Arrange and attend regular management meetings between the project man-agement team and other leaders within the project, as well as distributing the resulting protocols
  • Administering the financial contribution of the European Commission and fulfil-ling the financial tasks


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in the management and coordination of research projects. Prior management of projects within the context of European Commission calls would be an advantage
  • Interest to communicate, to collaborate, to connect different scientific disci-plines, and to contribute to multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

The remuneration is based on TV-L.
