SAFE is seeking to fill the position of a

Research Assistant/Doctoral Student (f/m/d)

(70% Position)

We are looking for

a research assistant for the SAFE project “Fiscal Institutions and Debt in Europe”. The successful candidate will be involved in empirical and theoretical research on issues such as tax harmonization in Europe, the development of the European budget, decision rules for tax and budget decisions and the European rules on budget deficits and debt.

Your Profile

  • Master in Economics, Finance, or Business, or successful qualification examination of a doctoral program in Economics, Finance, or Business
  • Enrolment or successful termination of the course phase of a structured graduate programin economics or similar
  • Excellent performance in your field of study and advanced theoretical and empirical knowledge
  • Research interest in Public Finance and preferably also pre-existing profound knowledge of Public Finance and EU institutions
  • Fluency in English

We offer

The infrastructure of a modern research centerwith excellent contacts to the scientific and financial community. You will be working in a very attractive working environment in the House of Finance at Goethe University and with an enthusiastic team of colleagues. Compensation will be 70% of a full time position in accordance with the standards of the public services wage agreement of the State of Hesse (TV-H E 13). The employment contract has an initial duration of up to 3 years depending on the state of qualification.
