The Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden) is a non-university research institute and a member of the Leibniz Association. The IFW employs approximately 600 people and one focus is on the training of young scientists (m/f/d) besides enhancing fundamental and applied research development. At the highest international level, the IFW operates modern materials science on a scientific basis and makes the obtained results useful for the economy. The complex and interdisciplinary research work is carried out within the IFW by five scientific institutes, which are supported by a highly developed technical infrastructure. Scientific Associate (m/f/d)

in the field of Surface Acoustic Waves Sensors (SAW-Sensors)

The Institute for Complex Materials at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden) offers a Scientific Associate (m/f/d) position starting from 01.10.2021. The contract in part-time with 20 hours per week is limited for 12 months.

Your main tasks:

  • Planning, implementation and evaluation of the experimental study on the temperature measurements with wirelessly interrogated SAW sensors under dynamic dielectric conditions of the plasma environment in deposition systems

Your profile:

  • The successful candidate (m/f/d) holds a master degree in electroengineering or similar fields with a strong interest in antenna technology and wireless sensors
  • Experience in applied research, in the field of HF technology, design and calculation of antennas, in RF measurement technology and SAW sensors is especially welcome
  • Programming skills, preferably in C ++ and MATLAB, are desirable
  • Good English skills are required as the work is expected in an international team

The salary is according to the German tariff TV-L (EG 13).
