Dortmund’ (legal entity name) is a research institution institutionally funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the sponsor of ’Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at TU Dortmund’ (IfADo). IfADo explores the risks and potentials of modern work in interdisciplinary approaches. We combine the disciplines of Ergonomics, Immunology, Toxicology, Psychology and Neurosciences.

In the Department of Immunology at the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors (IfADo) we offer

a scientific employee (PhD Position) in Immunology/Cell Biology (f,m,d)

The position is available immediately and limited to a period of 3 years.

Candidates will be part of a collaborative research project by the research groups Neuroimmunology (apl. Prof. Dr. Silvia Capellino) and Immunomodulation (Prof. Dr. Carsten Watzl) investigating the regulation of Natural Killer (NK) cell functions by Catecholamines (see https://www.ifado.de/immunology/ for details).

Successful candidates will have an excellent track record and will be highly motivated with a deep interest in Immunology and signal transduction. You should be able to work independently and responsibly, be interested in learning and establishing new techniques/technologies and present data at international meetings. The studentship will provide excellent training in many aspects of molecular and cellular Immunology. We offer state of the art equipment, a great scientific environment, and an energetic and productive team with many fascinating questions. The working language and the language of the doctoral thesis will be English and German.
