In our Evidence for Climate Solutions group in the Climate Economics and Policy research department, located at EUREF Campus in Berlin-Schöneberg, we are offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a Wellcome Trust funded project on Digital Evidence Synthesis Tools for Climate and Health (DESTINY). We are offering several positions as
Student researcher in climate and health (m/f/d)
(Position number: 42-2025 SHK Destiny)
starting on 01.02.2026.
The positions are initially funded for 12 months from the beginning of the contract. The remuneration is determined according to the guidelines of the TdL. The current hourly rate for a student assistant with a Bachelor's degree is 14,59 € (without a Bachelor's degree 13,98 €). These are part-time positions with a weekly working time of up to 20 hours per week.
Key responsibilities:
- data extraction from policy/project evaluation reports and/or scientific documents
- critical assessment of document’s quality/methods
- annotation of causal links from scientific and policy documents
- discussions of extracted information with the team
You are a Bachelor or Master student, enrolled at a German university, and ideally meet the following requirements:
- background in environmental science, geography, computer science, quantitative social or political science, physics, ecology, economics, or related fields
- general knowledge of climate research
- ability to solve problems in a scientific context using data
- previous experience in climate or development research is an asset
We expect:
- a keen interest in research on the topic related to climate and health
- strong self-management and organisational abilities
- capacity for teamwork
- a methodical and systematic approach
- a high level of competence in oral and written English, knowledge of written Spanish, French, Arabic or Chinese is an advantage
- structured and goal-oriented thinking
- capacity to familiarise yourself quickly with new topics
