At the earliest possible date we are hiring for our Department Knowledge Transfer, Team GESIS-Training, either in Mannheim or in Cologne a

Team leader scientific training (f/m/d)

(Salary group 14 TV-L, full time, initially for four years)

The department Knowledge Transfer provides a wide range of services to our research community and supports the transfer of knowledge into society.

Your areas of responsibility include

  • manage and further develop the GESIS Training team with about 10 employees
  • shape the team`s overall strategy and develop target group specific strategies for various training formats
  • recruit suitable speakers and lecturers
  • if desired, own research and publication activities in an area relevant for GESIS can be part of the task profile

The ideal candidate will have

  • a doctorate in a social science discipline
  • a professional background in scientific training, a strength in  decision-making and organisational skills
  • experience in and enjoy conceptual and strategic planning as well as didactic design of continuing education programs
  • proven knowledge of methods in quantitative social research or computational social science
  • experience in personnel management and development
  • good networks in research communities relevant to GESIS (national and international), and correspondingly very good German and English skills
