Junior Research Group Leader (m/f/d) in the field of Muscle Physiology and Metabolism

The DIfE pursues experimental and clinical research in the field of nutrition and health through interdisciplinary collaborations comprising a wide range of experimental, medical and epidemiological approaches. As a member of the Leibniz Research Alliance and a research institute of the Potsdam/Berlin region, the DIfE offers an international, diverse, innovative, and highly cooperative research environment, ideal for interdisciplinary cooperation.

To complement our research activities, we are seeking a highly motivated scientist with an outstanding scientific track record and substantial international research experience in the field of muscle physiology and metabolism, preferentially in experimental animal models and with some experience in clinical studies. The candidate will actively collaborate with other research groups within the DIfE to identify novel nutritional strategies and mechanisms in skeletal muscle metabolism and signaling related to health - and participate in the translation of these results. Applicants should propose innovative research projects, demonstrate that they can work independently (preferably have published as last author) and have a track record of securing third-party funding. The selected candidate will obtain attractive initial funding for 5 years with the possibility of an extension and is expected to successfully acquire external funds.
