The Leibniz Association's Open Access Publishing Fund supports authors who intend to publish articles in open access journals that impose article processing charges (APCs). The Fund is being financed by the Executive Board's strategic fund (20 percent) and by the participating Leibniz Institutions (80 percent).
At the moment 47 Leibniz Institutions have opted to take part in the Publishing Fund. Scientists of those institutions have been able to apply for funding since February 1st, 2017 using an online form. If an article meets the funding criteria the Open Access Publishing Fund will handle the invoice.
The Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) runs the publishing fund, deals with applications, handles invoices, and offers comprehensive advice on all relevant issues. This service is available to researchers as well as to Leibniz Institutions and their libraries. The team at the TIB will answer - via e-mail or phone - all your questions regarding funding criteria, applications, or invoicing. The team provides general information on open access, on licensing issues, and is happy to help researchers or libraries choosing journals best suited to their needs.
