The German Maritime Museum – Leibniz Institute for Maritime History (DSM) was opened in 1975. It is the largest of its kind in Germany and focusses on the eventful and momentous relationship between human being and the sea, for example marine technologies with an emphasis on ships. How has mankind used the sea – yesterday and today? And how will we live in the future?
