verbunden mit einer Universitätsprofessur (W3) für Erziehungswissenschaft mit dem Schwerpunkt Erwachsenenbildung und Lebenslanges Lernen (w/m/d)an der Universität zu Köln.

Das DIE ist die zentrale Einrichtung der Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildungsforschung in Deutschland. Es ist eine von Bund und Ländern geförderte außeruniversitäre forschungsbasierte Infrastruktureinrichtung, die Wissenschaft, Politik und Praxis durch die Bereitstellung von Daten und Informationen unterstützt und eigene Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten durchführt. Mit seiner Forschung und seinen wissenschaftlichen Dienstleistungen trägt das DIE zur nationalen und internationalen Entwicklung und Vernetzung der Erwachsenenbildung bei.

Die Universität zu Köln ist eine der größten und forschungsstärksten Hochschulen Deutschlands mit einem vielfältigen Fächerangebot. Sie bietet mit ihren sechs Fakultäten und ihren interfakultären Zentren ein breites Spektrum wissenschaftlicher Disziplinen und international herausragender Profilbereiche. Dazu gehört auch eine Lehrer/innenbildung auf hohem fachlichen Niveau mit einer systematischen Reflexion von Bildungs- und Erziehungsprozessen in der Gesellschaft.

IHRE AUFGABEN

Der/die Wissenschaftliche Direktor/in leitet als Mitglied des Vorstandes gemeinsam mit der Kaufmännischen Direktorin das Institut, welches derzeit ca. 120 Mitarbeitende beschäftigt. Sie/er ist neben der Gesamtleitung insbesondere zuständig für die strategische Entwicklung des Instituts in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Leitungskollegium, die Entwicklung von Forschungsschwerpunkten, die Anleitung und Kontrolle der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit, die wissenschaftliche und fachliche Außenvertretung, die Planung/Konzeption der Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses sowie die Weiterentwicklung der internationalen Vernetzung.

IHR PROFIL

Gesucht wird eine Persönlichkeit, die durch hervorragende wissenschaftliche Leistungen in einer anwendungsrelevanten und grundlagenbasierten Forschung zu Fragen der Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung und des Lebenslangen Lernens ausgewiesen ist. Eine profunde Kenntnis des Handlungsfeldes, seiner rechtlichen Reglementierung und politischen Steuerung wird vorausgesetzt. Erwartet werden eine methodisch vielfältige empirische Forschungsexpertise, eine hohe Sichtbarkeit der Publikationen in nationalen und internationalen referierten Zeitschriften sowie Erfahrungen in der Einwerbung wettbewerblicher Drittmittel. Elementar sind darüber hinaus ausgewiesene Leitungserfahrungen, z.B. in Verbundprojekten, Forschungsnetz- werken oder in universitären oder außeruniversitären Arbeitseinheiten, sowie ein mitarbeiter- orientierter Leitungsstil. Unverzichtbar sind zudem die Bereitschaft und Fähigkeit zu einer konstruktiven Zusammenarbeit mit Akteuren aus Praxis und Politik und ausgezeichnete kommunikative Fähigkeiten und Verhandlungsgeschick.

WIR BIETEN IHNEN

Das Berufungsverfahren wird gemeinsam von der Universität zu Köln und dem Deutschen Institut für Erwachsenenbildung durchgeführt. Der oder die Berufene wird unmittelbar nach Wirksamwerden der Ernennung/Einstellung als Universitätsprofessor/in an der Universität zu Köln zur Wahrnehmung der Aufgaben der Direktorin bzw. des Direktors des Deutschen Instituts für Erwachsenenbildung von der Universität dauerhaft beurlaubt, die Lehrverpflichtung umfasst i. d. R. zwei SWS. Die Besetzung der Professur erfolgt unbefristet, die Bestellung als Direktorin/Direktor erfolgt satzungsgemäß durch den Verwaltungsrat in der Regel für 5 Jahre, die Wiederbestellung ist der Regelfall.

Die Voraussetzungen sind gemäß § 36 Hochschulgesetz NRW ein abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium, Promotion und zusätzliche wissenschaftliche Leistungen, die im Rahmen einer Juniorprofessur, einer Habilitation, einer wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit an einer Hochschule, einer außeruniversitären Forschungseinrichtung, in Wirtschaft, Verwaltung oder einem anderen gesellschaftlichen Bereich im In- und Ausland erbracht wurden.

associated with a University Professorship (W3) for Educational Science with a focus on Adult Education and Lifelong Learning (f/m/d) at the University of Cologne.

The DIE is the central research organization for adult and continuing education research in Germany. It is a non-university research-based organization funded by the federal as well as state governments which supports science, politics and practice by providing data and information and it carries out its own research and development work. With its research and scientific services, the DIE contributes to the national and international development and networking of adult education.

The University of Cologne is one of the largest and best universities in Germany with a diverse range of subjects. With its six faculties and its interfaculty centers, it offers a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines and internationally outstanding profile areas. This also includes teacher training at a high professional level with a systematic reflection of educational processes in society.

YOUR TASKS

The Scientific Director, as a member of the Board of Directors, manages the Institute together with the Commercial Director. The Institute currently employs approximately 120 people. In addition to the overall management, he/she is responsible for the strategic development of the Institute in close cooperation with the Executive Board, the development of research priorities, the guidance and control of scientific work, the scientific and professional external representation, the planning/conception of the promotion of young scientists as well as the further development of international networking.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for a personality with outstanding scientific achievements in application-relevant and basic research on issues of adult and continuing education and lifelong learning. A profound knowledge of the field of action, its legal regulation and political control is required. A methodologically

diverse empirical research expertise, a high visibility of publications in national and international peer- reviewed journals as well as experience in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding are expected. Furthermore, proven leadership experience, e.g. in collaborative projects, research networks or in university or non-university work units, as well as a staff-oriented leadership style are elementary. Also indispensable are the willingness and ability to work constructively with stakeholders from practice and politics and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

WE OFFER YOU

The appointment procedure is carried out jointly by the University of Cologne and the German Institute for Adult Education. Immediately after the appointment/employment as a university professor at the University of Cologne, the appointee will be granted permanent leave from the University to perform the duties of the Director of the German Institute for Adult Education; the teaching obligation usually comprises one seminar. The appointment to the professorship is for an indefinite period of time, the appointment as director is made by the administrative board in accordance with the statutes, usually for 5 years, reappointment is the rule.

According to § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW), the prerequisites are a completed university degree, a doctorate and additional scientific achievements in the context of a junior professorship, a habilitation, a scientific activity at a university, a non-university research institution, in business, administration or another social field in Germany or abroad.
