Leibniz-Kolleg

The Leibniz-Kolleg for Young Researchers is a two-day retreat for postdoctoral researchers from all Leibniz Institutes. With a range of workshops, seminars, expert talks and personal conversations, it creates a platform to learn, exchange, meet and network with other researchers from the Leibniz Association.

The Leibniz-Kolleg for Young Researchers 2016 was Chances and Challenges of Interdisciplinary Research. Whilst interdisciplinarity facilitates to address research topics in a comprehensive way and from diverse angles it is also a challenge in the everyday of researchers: How can I best organise an interdisciplinary project? How does it affect career options? What are the best ways to publish research results? More details can be found in the programme in the box on the right.

2nd Leibniz-Kolleg for Young Researchers 2017 Digitisation of the Research System: Chances and Challenges

Digitisation is one of the buzzwords of our time: the internet of things, smart industries and homes as well as smart phones grasp but a few aspects of this elementary transformation of our private and professional lives. The impact of digitisation on academic life, on the research process and on the dissemination of research results are just as fundamental and essential.

Over the course of a three-day retreat, the 2nd Leibniz Kolleg for Young Researchers will provide you with the opportunity to explore questions concerning chances and challenges of digitisation in academia and beyond. Expert workshops and panel discussions on the topics research data management, teaching and the design of teaching tools in the digital age, the coscience and new ways of working together, opportunities of conveying your research offered by virtual reality will offer a hands-on approach to digitisation in a researcher's every day. Professionals from academia, business and industry will discuss career options with you. In seminars on career, networking strategies and communicative skills, you can develop strategies to further improve transferable skills that might be useful to take the next step in your career.  Above all, there will be a lot of time for networking at the lakeside of the Groß Behnitzer See in Brandenburg.

So don’t miss it and save the date!
