Junior Research Group Leader (m/f)
in the field of cognitive control of eating behavior and food intake
The German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke (DIfE) pursues experimental and clinical research in the field of nutrition and health through interdisciplinary cooperation comprising a broad spectrum of experimental, medical and epidemiological methods. The Cluster of Excellence NeuroCure is an interdisciplinary research network in the neurosciences with a focus on neurological and psychiatric disorders, which aims to better understand disease mechanisms and develop new therapies by promoting close cooperation between basic science and clinical research. Located in the international, diverse, innovative and highly collaborative research environments of Berlin and Potsdam, both institutions offer an ideal environment for interdisciplinary cooperation.
To complement our research activities, we are seeking a highly motivated scientist with an outstanding scientific track record and substantial international research experience in the field of cognitive control of eating behavior and food intake, preferentially in experimental animal models. She/he will actively collaborate with other research groups within the DIfE and NeuroCure and participate in the translation of the results. The lab will be located at the DIfE. Applicants should propose innovative research projects and demonstrate that they can work independently. In the selection process, priority will be given to scientific excellence rather than a specific research topic. The selected candidate will obtain attractive initial funding for 5 years with the possibility of an extension and is expected to successfully acquire external funds.
DIfE is an equal opportunity employer and certified by the career and family audit. Women are explicitly encouraged to apply. The level of salary will be determined on the basis of standard/tariff conditions (TV-L), present qualifications and professional experience. The position is available immediately.
Applications including CV, list of publications, contact details for three references, and a research concept should be submitted by April 25th, 2019 to jobs(at)dife.de.
