LCI Symposium 2020 "Future strategies to overcome antimicrobial resistance"

The upcoming LCI symposium "Future strategies to overcome antimicrobial resistance" will deal with cross-cutting topics such as Emerging Infections, Novel Antibiotics, Nosocomial Infections and Antibiotic Resistance, Infections in Immunocompromised Patients as well as Tuberculosis.

Joint event with the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF).

The Leibniz Center Infection (LCI) is a joint venture of the three Leibniz Institutes Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine, Heinrich Pette Institute - Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology and Research Center Borstel - Leibniz Lung Center.

The two-day symposium will focus on strategies to overcome antibiotic resistance and focus on approaches other than the development of new antibiotics. In times of widespread infections with multi-resistant pathogens, this meeting will bring together international experts to discuss new perspectives such as host molecule targeting, phage therapy, personalized interventions or vector control.

In a specific session, DZIF researchers will present their alternative strategies to combat resistance.
