LIfBi Lectures: “Improving Disadvantaged Schools”
Considerable policy attention is focused on improving the achievement of children from low SES families. Because of school assignment policies, this frequently leads to policies toward schools with concentrated poverty, but these schools have long resisted improvement. Recent evidence in U.S. schools suggest that linking policies to observed outcomes shows promise.
