The ARL – Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association, is an independent institution under public law situated in Hanover. As a competence centre for sustainable territorial development, the research focus of the ARL is on national and international developments of spatial structures, their causes and effects, and policy and planning options for their management.
