FIZ Karlsruhe - Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure has the public mandate to provide scientific information to scientists and researchers worldwide. To this end, we develop and operate the appropriate products and services and do research in order to further develop them according to our customers’ needs. Thus, FIZ Karlsruhe strengthens knowledge transfer in Germany and other countries, fosters innovation, and supports collaboration in science and research.

Our strategy to support the entire process of scientific value generation is realized in three business segments:
STN is an information service for scientific and technical research and patent information. It is used worldwide. STN is complemented by the full-text delivery service FIZ AutoDoc.

In the business segment KnowEsis we develop and operate e-research solutions and services for scientists in various disciplines. Important examples are: the German Digital Library (DDB) that offers everyone free access to Germany’s cultural and scientific heritage, and RADAR, a cross-disciplinary service for the archival and publication of research data.
