Leibniz in Europe
The Leibniz Association’s Europe Office monitors EU research policy developments and decision-making processes. Its aim is to support Leibniz institutions in their strategic positioning within the European research landscape

International presence and collaborations
Leibniz Institutes, Leibniz Research Alliances and Leibniz ScienceCampi work with partners in more than 140 countries. The collaborations are as diverse as the Leibniz Institutes themselves.

Capacity building and science diplomacy
Leibniz Institutes collaborate with researchers from the Global South and with German development cooperation organisations. They are actively involved in science diplomacy.

Research security
Cross-border collaboration offers many opportunities – but also harbours risks. Research security is therefore of fundamental importance to the Leibniz Association.
