Bettina Böhm, Secretary General of the Leibniz Associaton
The Secretary General heads Leibniz Headquarters. S/he supports, advises and represents the President and Board, including when it comes to drawing up statements on the strategic development of the Leibniz Association and carrying out tasks relating to research policy.
Within the Leibniz Association, the Secretary General encourages members to share experiences, especially on topics relating to management and to organisational and staff development.
The Secretary General fosters contacts in the political and parliamentary arena and with other research organisations. S/he represents the Leibniz Association in dealings with the national and federal state governments, on the expert committee and committee of the Joint Science Conference (GWK).
The Secretary General is appointed by the Board for a term of six years on the recommendation of the President and with the Executive Board’s approval.
Dr Bettina Böhm has been Secretary General of the Leibniz Association since January 2018.
