Leibniz Competition: Selection process

The Leibniz Competition is based on a four-stage quality assurance process: (1) international peer review, (2) classification and comparative assessment by the scientific members of the decision panel SAW, (3) categorization of applications in four subject-specific SAW panels, and (4) discussion and decision-making at the selection meeting against the background of the overall application situation. By combining independent international written peer review with a comparative assessment by the SAW with multidisciplinary perspectives, substantiated funding recommendations are developed in a quality-assured and transparent process.
