Aims and Scope

The established use of genome editing has led to a quantum leap in the technological possibilities for biological research and crop improvement. As an innovative approach that allows for precise modifications ranging from individual nucleobases to chromosomal structures, it has also visibly increased public and regulatory acceptance of plant genetic engineering.

The organizers of the International Plant Genome Conference 2027 welcome all stakeholders who wish to gain a knowledge-based understanding of plant genome editing and who are interested in advances in the technology, its potential applications in plant breeding, issues related to the legal framework, and/or options and conditions for commercial use. This applies, of course, especially to those who would like to present on these topics themselves.

By bringing together representatives from various academic disciplines and professional backgrounds, the conference aims to stimulate interdisciplinary, application-oriented exchange and to foster new collaborations at the national and international levels. It also offers an opportunity to examine the opportunities and challenges associated with the continued development of genome editing - particularly its role in shaping the future of plant breeding.
